    International Pilot Trip Professional Development Program

    The Ohio JCEP Global Relations Committee is excited to bring to our Ohio members a first ever International Professional Development trip to Honduras, Central America. This seven day trip will take place in August of 2020.

    Ukraine Women in Agriculture Delegation Visits Northwest Ohio

    On May 9, Susan Zies, Wood County Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, hosted an information session for the northwest Ohio portion of a visit of a delegation of eight professional women leaders in agriculture from Ukraine. Melissa Rupp, Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, Fulton County also joined her in this meeting along with Melanie Strait-Bok, Regional Vice President Agricultural Lending, Farm Credit Mid-America and Chasitie Euler, Territory Manager of northwest Ohio Corteva Agriscience Company.

    Visit to Honduras March 2018

    Sally McClaskey and Dustin Homan (Ohio 4-H Program Managers), and Amanda Morgan (OSU Undergraduate and Collegiate 4-H member) visited Zamorano University and nearby communities in Honduras in March, 2018. The purpose of the visit was to initiate a partnership between Zamorano and Ohio 4-H in order to explore how 4-H programs and methodologies might be adapted to positively engage youth in Honduras.

    In accordance with a mutual desire to promote further cooperation in higher education between the United States of America and the Republic of South Africa, the Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform (DRDAR), Bisho, South Africa and the African Footprints of Hope Organization (AFOHO), Alice, South Africa and The Ohio State University on behalf of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) entered into a formal agreement for the purpose of educational and cultural exchange.

    For a week in September 2017, International Extension Programs welcomed agricultural leaders from South Africa. The group comprised senior members of the Eastern Cape Provincial Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform (DRDAR), the Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency (ECRDA), as well as the African Footprints of Hope Organization (AFOHO). The delegation visited the CFAES Farm Science Review where they met Dean Kress and were introduced to several ag. leaders of Ohio.
