For a week in September 2017, International Extension Programs welcomed agricultural leaders from South Africa. The group comprised senior members of the Eastern Cape Provincial Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform (DRDAR), the Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency (ECRDA), as well as the African Footprints of Hope Organization (AFOHO). The delegation visited the CFAES Farm Science Review where they met Dean Kress and were introduced to several ag. leaders of Ohio. They later visited OSU South Centers in Piketon where the Center Director, Dr. Tom Worley, along with several Extension educators, presented talks on Extension activities, partnerships, and collaboration with the local communities, including visits to field demonstration plots. In mid November, the group is expected to return to Ohio to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the areas of Agricultural Extension, Rural and 4-H Youth Development and Business Development.
