On May 9, Susan Zies, Wood County Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, hosted an information session for the northwest Ohio portion of a visit of a delegation of eight professional women leaders in agriculture from Ukraine. Melissa Rupp, Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, Fulton County also joined her in this meeting along with Melanie Strait-Bok, Regional Vice President Agricultural Lending, Farm Credit Mid-America and Chasitie Euler, Territory Manager of northwest Ohio Corteva Agriscience Company. The Ukrainian leaders had an interest in learning about the Women In Agriculture Program that has been in existence for 26 years in Wood County. There were discussions and idea sharing to support women farmers in Ukraine. The group initiated a Ukrainian Women in Agriculture Facebook page as a result of this meeting.
